Koinonia Life Retreat - 2008 in the UK

The Koinonia Life Retreat in 2008 is planned for August in the west of London, capital of the United Kingdom. All members of KLDF are welcome, as are others that any of us may wish to invite as personal friends. (Please note that information on this website will change from time to time as we get closer to August 2008, in particular the programme, the booking details, and the travel details may change.)

Meeting round the table

Why? - to share life together in the company of Jesus
Yes, we invited him as our guest of honour, and he's agreed to come! The 2005 Retreat in Florida was very relaxed with only one or two short presentations per day. There was lots of unplanned space and time for the Holy Spirit to move and speak to us. It was a good way to meet, we learned a great deal - from Him directly as well as through one another. Relationships were forged, bonds deepened, and friendships made. We'd be delighted to see the same things happen again, renewing existing relationships and making new ones as well.

When? - 2nd-4th August 2008
The Retreat is planned for Saturday 2nd August to Monday 4th August. We expect to meet from lunchtime on 2nd until mid-morning on 4th which will give us one full day and two part days, spending the nights of 2nd and 3rd in the old house. See the programme for full details.

Sunbury Court Mansion

Where? - Sunbury Court near London
We've reserved accomodation for two nights at Sunbury Court, an 18th century mansion on the north bank of the River Thames. The village of Sunbury-on-Thames is a quiet little place of old brick, wooden beams, and leafy riverside pubs. Sunbury Court was once the home of a wealthy Londoner, but today it's the international conference centre of the Salvation Army.

How? - booking, travelling, all you need to know
Anyone travelling from outside the UK might want to stay extra nights with friends or at a motel or hotel to help deal with any jetlag and turn the trip into an English holiday. The weather is usually good in August, and there are many interesting places to visit. You can book provisional places right away, we'll need to take a small deposit in mid-October 2007.
